20 degrees ...

... on Tuesday night, and the tomatoes SURVIVED!!  It's a miracle.  A gardening miracle.  :)

I think I'm going to like this high tunnel ...

So scared ...

I'm not a gambler.  So what we did last weekend goes against my very nature.  I'm not sure why we did it.  And now I am so scared.

We planted 96 tomato plants in our high tunnel.  Our tomato plants we have grown and nurtured from seed this past months.  Seeds I painstakingly chose just for this purpose.  Plants it would be hard, if not impossible to replace at this point.

I need to stop thinking about it ...

When we planted, it was hot.  We were shedding layers and sweating.

And now it is forecasted to snow with lows in the mid 20's by next week.

So Gage and Roger spent all day Sunday covering the little plants with row covers, and adding a bucket or large bottle of water next to each plant as a water insulator.

We have propane heaters on standby.

Now all we can do is wait and see.  And pray.  Pray LOTS.

Spring is coming!

 Look!  Proof!  Spring is coming!

Crocus popping up!  Ahh, the first sign ...

And the lettuce in our high tunnel is thriving ...

Tomato seedlings already needed potting up ...

The boys hard at work!  When I asked Gage why he made that face he said, "What?  I was smiling."  Hmmmmm.

Bruce decided to take it upon himself to "pot up" the tomatoes I had thinned out.  :)

The end result of Bruce's "project."  :)

 Play time!
